Erik's Family

If you are visiting this website chances are that you already know my name. Erik Bouchard that is. I am the first and last child of my family and was born the 7 April 1971 in the province of Québec, Canada. That makes me a French Canadian.

I have begun learning English by watching the “Super Friends” along with of course “Sesaseme Street”. Ok the show is called “Sesame Street” but I always pronounce it that way. Did you know as of 2007… 4,154 episodes have been produced in 38 seasons? Wow! Funny but I have always thought that this show was for young French Canadians to learn English and not for Americans to learn French.

Since my youth I always had been fascinated by comics and video games. I was lucky enough to have witness and participated in the boom of home computer (Vic 20, Commodore, TSR 80) along with the rise of the gaming console (Odyssey 2, Intellivision). Since then I am still a big techno geek with an Xbox 360, a Wii, PS2 and three computers!

I’m also a big collector of comics. I have tons of Marvel, DC, Image and others comics. I even have a room dedicated to them where I can store them and also display the ones I got slabed (CGC). As others hobbies, I was a long time RPG gamer and have tons of modules and D&D books. I practice and teach karate and I’m currently Black Belt in 2 styles.

I have studied at the University in “Computer Management” but never finished it. I was hired after a long process for a company named “Alcan” in 1997. There were 35,000 candidates and only 60 positions. So I’m very proud and happy to work there and believe me, I’m making more money than I could have with my degree in hand.

I have a wonderful girlfriend name “Manon” that I met in junior high school. We have been together since 1991. We are the proud parents of a fantastic little girl name “Camille” born in 1995. We also got a dog (César) and a parrot (Dougy).

In 1998 I created the first “Knights of the Dinner Table” website. This is a comic magazine created by “Jolly R. Blackburn” where we witness the misadventures of a G.M. and his insane group of RPG. I worked on it until 2003 and accomplished a lot of great things while doing so. I was made an “Honorary Knight”, got two cameos in the KODT magazine (#55 and #59), and became at the same time the only real life character in the KODT universe, Co-Founder of the Yahoo KODT Fan Club, worked on the French KODT translation and naturally, my “Knights of the Web” website that is still online. This was a great experience!

While working on KODT I met many great people and one of them is “Douglas Curtis”. Doug was making the “Space Hack” strip in the KODT mag. But I met him a little before when he sent me one of his KODT fan art. Since Kenzer had no website or forum at the time I was receiving many emails from all the KODT fans. Some even were thinking that I was the creator of KODT, funny no? To make a long story short, Doug and I became friends and I got the privilege to write some of his Space Hack strips while having also making his “Flying Ferret” website. When Doug stopped making strip or drawing for Kenzer (Hackmaster RPG) we decide to start a webcomic group name “Eyeskream”. Since then Eyeskream has become a serious and recognized webcomic group along “Boxecar Comic”, “Modern Tales” and “Blank Label Comic” to name a few.

So I am the manager of the “Eyeskream Webcomic Creators Group” and I have a great fun doing it. I also like to make websites and have done many over the years. Finally I was able to work on my own and try to make something good of it. Over the years many artists have done drawings of me, not to mention several “cameos” of myself in numerous webcomics. I am proud and happy to finally be able to display all of them on this website. This is always a joy to see me drawn by someone. Not to mention the great honor I have when I make “cameos” in an actual comic.
